Frequently Asked Questions

To become an approved vendor for an event in one of the five downtown city parks, you need to fulfill certain requirements:

Merchandise vendors with a Peddlers License should complete the vendor application and submit it to NCPF. Once approved, they will be invoiced for a $50 vendor fee.

Food vendors without a Peddlers License must complete an inspection by the health department and, if applicable, the fire department.

Vendors licensed in another municipality need to submit their documentation for review and may require further inspections. In all cases, the $50 vendor fee is invoiced and can be paid by credit card, check, or money order.

Generally, electricity is not provided for vendors at events in Downtown Newark parks. However, it is recommended to reach out to Newark City Parks or the specific event organizers for confirmation and any potential exceptions.

Vendors are advised to utilize street parking in the surrounding area or explore nearby parking lots or garages, following any applicable parking regulations and restrictions. It is recommended to plan ahead and arrive early to secure a suitable parking spot.

Vendors are typically responsible for bringing their own equipment, including tables, chairs, generators, and pop-up tents. Newark City Parks may not provide these items. It is recommended that vendors come prepared with their own setup equipment.

The act of depositing or disposing of oil and any other food or cooking byproducts within the premises of the park is strictly prohibited.

It is mandatory for each and every vendor engaged in business activities within said park to possess and maintain an individual receptacle designated for the disposal of waste materials.
